One of the Rarest King Hardcovers. This book is NOT numbered; however, the colophon does designate the print run.  Termed by King as "overdesigned"...this edition, bound in stainless steel with a digital timepiece placed on its front cover, is visually unique.  As with (probably all) of the clock editions, the clock does not work - it was expected to last through 1990, and was manufactured by Big Time in New York.  "You may choose to replace the clock or not; its failure is to be considered a property of the book."  This book is stored in a gorgeous traycase which originally was sold separately from the book.  The box is covered in two tones of grey, with grey tween book cloth on the case and steel grey fabric on the walls.  The title is stamped in silver on the red leather spine label.  The interior is lined in steel grey, and the entire ensemble harmonizes with the book in color and style.  - excerpts from Stephen King Collectibles, by George Beahm.
