High debt, slower summer sales, and lack of interest have finished off what was once a thriving remainder business. Second quarter sales were half of first quarter’s, which sunk me. I was netting about $9K a month working four hours a day selling on one site (the big A) when I closed the business end of June. Not bad, but not enough. Time to move on to something else. I have closed my business and must sell my inventory at the direction of my friend and yours, the IRS, because they want some money that I owe them. I have 63,822 (give or take a few) books, some shelved here in my home and some boxed in two storage units five minutes away. The books are remainders and hurts, most in excellent condition with ink marks on the outer edges. No used books are in this auction. A spreadsheet is available.  I priced my listings against the lowest price on the big A book site and the lowest retail value August 26 is $132,000. Greater income is possible if you list on Amazon’s bargain pages, because many of my books have bargain pages. Many of them also fetch a fine price in Canada. Upon completion of Auction, I will invoice you $1,000 through PayPal as a good-faith deposit and would like payment within a day. The balance should be sent via check, certified check or money order to arrive within a week. If you send a personal or business check, you will have to wait for it to clear before removing the inventory. You will be responsible for boxing the inventory and moving it.
