A woodcut initials have been excised causing loss to text on the reverse, though only in an area of approx 2cm squared. Fraying and dust soiling to fore edge of pp157-168, though this is marginal only and does not affect text. Archivally repaired tears to CC3,4,5 and 6), approx 17 cms in length, running down from upper edge to centre of page. Further archival repaired closed tears to OO2 and 3, up the inner margin from the lower edge, with similar to Vv4. 4 inch closed tear from lower corner of Yy4. Archival repair to pp875 (sigIIi6), affecting portion of gutter and inner edge of text. Aside from these points, there is some occasional creasing, soiling or smudging including a few ink spots, a number of minor edge tears or nicks, one or two of them almost or slightly encroaching into extremities of text and a few marginal worm tracks, though nothing serious. In the main a good crisp copy of an extremely early and desirable English book.  The binding is very good and firm light tan calf recently done with clasps with just some minor scuffs and handling wear.
