Description
Famous Monsters of Filmland #24, Warren Publishing August 1963, cover by Basil Gogos. Very Fine condition. Supple cream to off-white pages. No cuts, tears or writing. No misprinting. No dampness, stains or brittleness. Spine is straight, binding is secure and the book lays flat. I’ll try to describe in detail all issues that affect condition --- please see the closeup scans. Please write me with any specific questions you may have. Some rubs to back cover. Slight rubbing to front cover ¼ inch from spine along color bars ---see detail. Small scrape to area just past Werewolf’s ear on front cover—see detail. Contents include "Werewolf of London" 16 page filmbook, 8 page preview of the King Kong filmbook to be featured in the following issue, The Amazing Ackermonster—photos inside the Ackermansion, announcement of Forry’s plan to visit FM fans across the country. Plus all the regular features. When FM was born in 1958 I was 8 years old. I bought the first issue of FM –--and every issue thereafter—directly off the newsstand. Over the years I would buy supplemental copies, both from FM’s back issue service and later from collectors shops. I’ve owned up to 4 copies of individual issues at a time. I studied to be an artist and worked for years as an art librarian. I know how to handle and keep rare books. This copy has been carefully preserved since the day it was purchased. It would be a nice addition to any serious collector's collection. Need more info? Please email me with questions BEFORE end of bidding.
