Times Books (Random House), New York 1995. True First Edition / First Printing. Originally published in this 1995 edition in a very limited number of 7,500 copies. Almost all went to libraries around the country. Most were probably discarded after a few years. Obama's popularity did not grow until several years later. Dreams From My Father was re-released in 2004 after Barack Obama's speech at the Democratic National Convention. The 2004 Dreams from My Father was released in a much larger print run and is much less valuable. Barack Obama's first book, Dreams from My Father printed in 1995, is one of the most highly sought after and collectible Presidential First Editions of all time. The price is set at about one-third of what others are demanding. On ABE there are only 4 listed worldwide ranging from $13,500 to a whopping $250,000. Don't miss this opportunity to own this TRUE FIRST EDITION. Meets All First Printing Points: 1) Copyright page states FIRST EDITION with the Full Random House numberline from 9 to 2. Random House does not use 1's in their numberlines to identify first printings. 2) Black spine with gold lettering and white boards.3) Tan endpaper. 4) 403 pages. 5) First issue dust jacket correctly priced at $23.00. Amazingly Scarce. Book Condition: Near Fine-, one of the nicest copies available, an ex library copy professionally restored, tight and square, barely visible tape ghosts appear diagonally on the front and rear boards about 1 inch at the top and bottom, a few small smudges to the front and rear board, spine nice, a few very minor surface tears from tape removal lessened as much as possible, shelf wear to bottom edge especially to the bottom corners, small bump to rear board near spine, small tape ghost very light in appearance at the top of the front and rear paste-downs, a very small library stamp has been removed from the front endpaper leaving minor surface paper loss, otherwise the endpapers are in great collectible condition, very tight spine, pages very clean, original untrimmed fore-edge, stamp to top edge has been sanded and smoothed out nicely. Many photos posted. Please review them and ask questions. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine, wrapped in a new clean removable mylar cover, very minimal wear to jacket, first issue correctly priced at $23.00 on the front flap, only the slightest shelf wear at the head and the foot of the dust jacket spine.
